Getting Started with Jarvis: A Complete Guide
Setting up Jarvis takes about two minutes. This guide walks you through everything from your first conversation to connecting plugins and customising your experience.
Step 1: Try the free browser version
The fastest way to experience Jarvis is in your browser. Head to heyjarvis.co.uk/app, allow microphone access when prompted, and say “Hey Jarvis.” That’s it — you’re talking to your AI assistant.
The free tier gives you up to five conversations per day with server-side processing. It’s the perfect way to explore what Jarvis can do before downloading.
Step 2: Create your account
To save your preferences and enable plugins, create a free account. You can sign up with your email or use Google/Apple sign-in. Your account syncs your settings across devices.
Step 3: Enable your first plugins
Plugins are what make Jarvis genuinely useful. Here are the most popular ones to start with:
- Email — read, reply, and manage your inbox by voice
- Calendar — check your schedule, create and move events
- Weather — get forecasts and severe weather alerts
- Spotify — play music, control playback, discover new tracks
- Smart Home — control lights, heating and connected devices
Each plugin requires a one-time authorisation (e.g. signing into your Google account for Calendar). After that, everything works by voice.
Step 4: Upgrade to Pro for local processing
When you’re ready for unlimited use and maximum privacy, upgrade to Jarvis Pro (£9.99/month). You’ll get the downloadable desktop app that processes everything on your own hardware — no cloud required.
Step 5: Customise your experience
In Settings, you can adjust:
- Voice — choose from multiple AI voice options
- Wake word sensitivity — adjust how easily Jarvis activates
- Morning briefing — configure what information you hear each morning
- Personality — set the tone from professional to casual
Things to try
Here are some commands to get you started:
“Hey Jarvis, what’s on my calendar today?”
“Hey Jarvis, play something relaxing on Spotify”
“Hey Jarvis, read my unread emails”
“Hey Jarvis, turn off the bedroom lights”
“Hey Jarvis, set a timer for 15 minutes”
“Hey Jarvis, morning briefing”
